In partnership with the Nashville Public Education Foundation, The Tennessean presents the new monthly “Teacher Talks” series.

This is a monthly educator profile that seeks to create greater awareness in the community of the value of teachers, the challenges they face, and the obstacles they confront to stay in the profession.

Skae is also a Ph.D. student in literacy studies at Middle Tennessee State University. She is originally from Malawi in Africa and moved to the United States at age 3-1/2.
