2020 School Board Election

The Nashville Metropolitan Board of Education is a nine-person governing body that is responsible for providing oversight that acts in the best interest of our public schools and the communities in which they operate. One elected member represents each of the nine school districts. School Board members hold a four-year term. Terms are staggered so that all nine members are not up for re-election at the same time.

As part of NPEF's mission, we believe that sharing relevant information on public education in Nashville is critically important to our community. We surveyed school board candidates for their perspectives on MNPS schools in order to raise awareness about and encourage participation in the School Board elections we are posting their responses here. The NPEF does not endorse school board candidates.
