Nashville Public Education Foundation Executive Director and CEO Shannon Hunt said there are few things more important than finding a new superintendent.
“There’s a lot to discuss about how we can be most helpful,” she said. “But we are thrilled to see the school board looking at ways to have a true citywide effort to find and hire the absolute best in the country.”
The Metro Schools Board is revamping the way it will find a next director of schools, starting with dismissing the search firm it hired to lead the process.
The board hopes to officially kickoff its second search in October after an initial failed attempt. The timeline for the search is still unclear, but the board would like to have a new director by June.
