Barry announces task force to help pick the next leader of Nashville’s schools

Nashville Mayor Megan Barry today announced the creation of a new task force to help pick a new director for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools.

According to a news release, the Mayor’s Office and the Nashville Public Education Foundation will co-chair a 12-week community task force “charged with guiding the search and recruitment effort.”

Director Jesse Register left the system in June. After being rebuffed by Williamson County chief Mike Looney, Chris Henson, the school system’s CFO, was appointed interim superintendent.
