A 17-member task force will help guide the search for Nashville’s next schools director, Mayor Megan Barry and the Metro school board announced Monday.
Barry’s office and the Nashville Public Education Foundation will co-chair the committee to help find a replacement for Jesse Register, who retired in June. The school board’s initial search for a replacement ended in July after Williamson County schools chief Mike Looney declined an offer to come to Nashville.
