Educators are among the most important members of our community and have the ability to make a lifetime impact on the development of children.
That is why the Nashville Public Education Foundation began the “Show Your Love For Teachers” campaign recently to celebrate the city’s 6,800-plus public school educators.
Aside from recognition, the campaign also connects teachers with business owners who want to offer discounts or other incentives to ensure great teachers come to and agree to stay in Nashville.
On Wednesday I’ll host a conversation on the campaign with NPEF President and CEO Shannon Hunt on Facebook Live at 8:30 a.m. CT. You can find us on The Tennessean’s Facebook page: www.facebook.com/tennessean.
We also will talk about a new collaborative effort between NPEF and The Tennessean called “Teacher Talks” to highlight individual teachers and their achievements and help the community get to know them better.
