The Metro school board wants the search committee to be comprised of Nashville area leaders and community organizations including Nashville Mayor Megan Barry, Vice Mayor David Briley, the Nashville Public Education Foundation (NPEF), Metropolitan Nashville Education Association (MNEA), Nashville Organizing for Action and Hope (NOAH), Interdenominational Ministers Fellowship (IMF), Conexion Americas, NAACP and the Nashville Chamber.
