STEM Prep wins first Nashville education foundation innovation award

Among a list of performers and speakers that included Vince Gill and Mayor Megan Barry at Monday’s Nashville Public Education Foundation Hall of Fame luncheon, Edgardo Enamorado stole the day.

The STEM Preparatory Academy 10th-grade student is the inspiration behind the Nashville Newcomer Academy, STEM Prep founder Kristin McGraner said. And because of that, she asked Edgardo to speak at the luncheon — dedicated to celebrating and rallying behind Metro Nashville Public Schools improvements — on behalf of the charter school as it won the foundation’s first-ever $10,000 award for inspiring innovation.
