Partnership with Foundation, CMA, Gives Students Chance to Play Music in Schools

A great article featuring Kix Brooks of Brooks & Dunn, was featured in The Tennessean on Feb. 23rd about how he spearheaded the creation of the Keep the Music Playing program. The program is a joint effort from NPEF and the CMA and provides music instruments for 144 Metro schools, funds recording studios at the Boys & Girls Club, a music summer camp at W.O. Smith school, and a song-lyric writing class for kids at the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum.

Brooks says he can’t do counseling, can’t find a way to give troubled kids two loving, caring parents. But he says, “music is an escape. It’s the only one I can share with them.”

Thanks Kix for your commitment to public schools in Nashville!
